Catering equipment hire firm PKL Group has hosted a demonstration day for Falcon cooking equipment.
The company set up one of its temporary kitchen units outside its headquarters near Cheltenham and invited two Falcon chefs to demonstrate the new Falcon six grid compact combination oven, with the manufacturer’s Chieftain grill and Dominator six burner oven range also used.
PKL’s sales staff helped to cook breakfast using the equipment, with the chefs showing them all the features of the different equipment and discussing the best ways to get the most out of it and use it for a range of cooking styles. This should help the PKL staff to be more knowledgeable when helping advise clients on the most suitable catering equipment for their projects.
The chefs also demonstrated how the kitchen layout, designed by PKL’s team, had been optimised to make the most of the space and create a practical, efficient workspace.
The kitchen unit used was one of PKL’s energy efficient eKitchens. These have been designed with a number of energy saving features including high-spec LED lighting, additional insulation in the roof and floor, a double-glazed serving hatch, thermostatically controlled space heater, plus energy efficient taps and electric water heater.
These eKitchens have an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of B42 compared to D97 for a standard unit, and can save over £350 per year in energy consumption.
